The ZINC coating that we apply is done using a wire feed welder. This is by no way the cheapest way to repair rust holes but sometimes the only way. You must also consider how long the repair lasts. We figure this repair will last 100 years.
Let's take for example one of the impossible places that you can't weld a patch to. If you can see it, we'll be able to fix the rust hole. The wire feed system sprays pure metal into the rusted area at any angle. Weather it be right-side up, upside down, or inside out it just doesn't matter.
When the liquefied metal (ZINC) DROPLETS ARE APPLIED TO A SAND BLASTED SURFACE IT IMMEDIATELY BECOMES PART OF THE SURFACES SOON AS THEY TOUCH IT.
After this bed of galvanizing has been applied; the zinc is malleable (like lead) with a file, but adheres better.
